'Swamy Stories', is a collection of five short stories written by Mr. Y Vijay Kumar Swamy. These stories were published in various Telugu language magazines in between 1997-1999.
In this book 'Swamy Kathalu', the writer tried to portray his childhood experiences while living his village with his family. The setting of these stories is in a fictional village called 'Rekukunta'. The village is located near river ‘Penna’, in formerly, Anantapur district, now ‘Sri Sathya Sai’, in undivided Andhra Pradesh during 90s.
There are five stories in this book. Some of these stories and a few characters are real while most of the stories and characters are just fictional. The Five Stores which are part of this ‘Swamy Stories’ – Volume One are, ‘Whose Deception!’, ‘What Pride Brings?’, ‘Why Temple and School’, ‘TV Madness!’, and ‘First Love!’.
I truly appreciate the variety of themes in the above stories. I personally enjoyed reading all the stories and my special appreciation goes to ‘First Love’, which shows an innocent side of the emotions, ‘Love and Attraction!’.
