About the Author

Ajeet Bhardwaj is a renowned Optometrist in India. He graduated from AIIMS, New Delhi in 1979 and later completed his M.Optom from Lotus College of Optometry, Mumbai. He is the Founder & Director of Optique in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Optique is a chain of Optometry clinics with retail stores across India since 1988.

He is the Past President of the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry and Indian Optometry Federation. He was a Board Member of the World Council of Optometry, World Optometry Foundation and Optometry Council of India. He was also the Clinical Director of the Special Olympics Opening Eyes program in India.

Ajeet is also an avid tennis player & plays for the Indian Senior Tennis team, and represents India in international championships. His time traveling with the Indian team, built his interest to develop and implement Telehealth in his practice so that he could stay connected to his patients while being away.

He started a vision centre in his village in Haryana where all patients are provided free consultations, glasses and cataract surgery in collaboration with AIIMS New Delhi, Schroff Eye Centre Darya Ganj and Lions Eye Hospital in Defence Colony. The centre provides services to 20 villages around it. Optometry interns of Bachelors and Masters Programs from Amity University often participate and conduct OPD as a part of community outreach. Seeing the regular flow of patients, and the community outreach, the Haryana Government established a Primary Healthcare Centre in the same building.
