Krishna Dhyana Shloka (For Meditation)
This beautiful verse from the Srimad Bhagavatam is chanted at the beginning of a puja to visualize and welcome the divine, enchanting form of Lord Krishna.
कस्तूरीतिलकं ललाटपटले वक्षःस्थले कौस्तुभं ,
नासाग्रे वरमौक्तिकं करतले वेणुं करे कङ्कणम् ।
सर्वाङ्गं हरिचन्दनं सुललितं कण्ठे च मुक्तावलिं ,
गोपस्त्रीपरिवेष्टितो विजयते गोपालचूडामणिः ॥
With the fragrant musk tilak on his forehead, the precious Kaustubh gem on his chest, a graceful pearl on the tip of his nose, the flute in his hands, and elegant bracelets on his wrists; his entire body anointed with fragrant sandalwood paste, a beautiful necklace of pearls around his neck, and surrounded by the gopis—all glories to the crown jewel of cowherds, Lord Gopala.
