For this , one has to understand the “History of Color Revolution’, ‘Cause and Effect of Color’, ‘Color and Appearance, Color Measurement , Metamerism and ‘Instumental Pass/Fail’ Technique’. I have covered these topics in detais. I have covered the topics of Color Instrumentation and Computer Color Matching Systems for Color Industries such as paints,plastics, inks and textiles.I have discussed the Color Matching Software for predicting color recipe formula and color correction strategy required in color production. Process parameters are also discussed and how to obtain a color match in ‘Zero Shot’ is explained by sharing practical experiences. New “Web based color match systems” are discussed for obtaining the “Instant Color Matching”.

About the Author

Born in 1947, Dr. Narendra S. Gangakhedkar obtained his M.Sc. (Physics) from the Marathwada University, Aurangabad (1968), Postgraduate Diploma in Radiological Physics from the Bhabha atomic Research Centre, Bombay (1968-69) and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Bombay (1976). In 1978, he attended Advanced Color Technology Courses conducted by Prof. Fred .W Billmeyer. Jr. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, USA
He started his career as Lecturer in Physics and was Scientist (Information) at Cotton Technological research Laboratory (ICAR). Bombay.
His industrial Color Research career was started at Asian Paints, Ltd, a leading Paint Company in India. He has carried out the pioneer work in the field of Computer Color Matching for paints applications (1976-85). He developed Computer Color matching Software and established 15 to 20% cost savings in pigment consumption.
In 1985, he established his Company Compute Spectra Color Pvt. ltd (CSC). His company represented leading manufacturers and suppliers of Color Technology Instruments and Color Control Systems. His Company sold over 300 Computer Color Matching Systems in India in textiles, paints, plastics, Inks and Pigment and Dyestuff industries. He installed Col0r Systems, trained colorists, and offered practical solutions to Color Problems.
He lectured in National Symposia and Seminars and conducted Color Technology Courses for Color Formulators in Paints, Plastics and Inks, Production Chemists, Textile Dyers and Printers. He presented number papers in national and International Conferences. Being a successful Businessman, he received a number of National and international awards for his contribution to Industries such as “ Million Dollar Club Award” , “ Agent of the Year Award “ and “ Business excellence award”.
He is married having two daughters. He was the President of Rotary Club of Mumbai Andheri and Assistant Governor of Rotary Dist.3140.
