Description

An in-depth study of Cosmic Chants and other poetic creations of Paramahansa Yogananda (1893 - 1952), world-renowned Kriya Yoga proponent, mystic, jagadguru, lover of God and author of "Autobiography of a Yogi", one of the top 100 spiritual books of the last century. The author unlocks the beauty and the hidden meaning of Yoganandaji's Cosmic Chants and also presents the science of Kriya Yoga in the light of ancient Upanishads. Bonus material includes: a) a study of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" as a fascinating spiritual allegory, b) a tribute to Dihika, West Bengal where a 100-plus-year spiritual movement started and is flourishing through the channels of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship, c) A commentary on the poet as a mystic, courtesy C. D. Lewis. Overall, an inspiring and uplifting read for anyone with a spiritual, philosophical or literary bent of mind...

Re: Paramahansa Yogananda: A Great Yogi-Poet (eBook)

This is a great work by Sri. Dr. KV Ramarao, in providing us a new dimension on Cosmic chants.. though they sound so familiar, your perspective/thoughts give the readers a whole new understanding of what each of these cosmic chants truly is.

This book also reflects the author's true and deep understanding of Sri.Sri.Paramahansa Yogananda Ji's teachings and how much hard-work and groundwork he had done in bringing forth the facts. I was amazed at how he connected various aspects of Poetry with Cosmic Chants (of YSS/SRF).

Also, I loved the way you put forth about Kriya yoga and how it is linked with references to our Upanishads... in entirety, this book is a gem and rare gift to anyone.!

This book is profound and inspiring. It will shed new light on Paramahansa Yogananda's chants and writings, deepening one's appreciation for the great guru. A chapter on Shakespeare's Tempest is also wonderfully illuminating.
