Dr Vishnu Joglekar is MD in two subjects, Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine) and Agadatantra (Toxicology and Forensic Medicine). He is a Professor of Agadatantra with 35 years of teaching and clinical experience.
He has guided more than 40 students for MD Agadatantra. And 5 students for Ph.D. He worked in Seth Tarachand Ramnath Charitable Ayurvedic Hospital as a consultant with OPD and IPD duties for 20 years. He has coordinated an ambitious Vaidya-Scientist Fellowship program at I-AIM (now TDU), Bengaluru.
He is a trustee of the Indian Drug Research Association and Laboratory (IDRAL)
He has participated in various syllabus committees of CCIM (now NCISM)
He was a member of Board of Studies (BOS) MUHS Nashik.
He is a consultant at the AYUSH CoE, Department of Health Sciences, SPPU, Pune.
He is a recipient of the Vaidya Shankar Dajishastri Pade Grantha Puraskar of Vaidya Khadiwale Vaidyak Sanshodhan Samstha (VKVSS) Pune
Additionally, he is a Sanskrit scholar who has published a commentary on Kālidāsa’s renowned work, Meghadūtam.
Through his integration of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge and modern health sciences, Dr. Joglekar is uniquely equipped to interpret classical medical literature through the lens of contemporary biomedical science. This commentary on the Kalpa Sthāna of the Suśruta Saṃhitā represents the initial phase of this initiative.
