The title of the original book written in Tamil was “ From Indus to Cauvery” .The title of the book has been inspired by the two books written by RAGULJI (aka)Ragulasankrithyaan .His two books the Volga to Ganga and the Indus to Ganga were the books that inspired the author of this book towards the History and Study of the civilization of yore .He was a great humanist.
He was one of the first to study about the migration of Aryans to India from steppes of the East Europe .That’s why he named it as the Volga to ganga. And on the way they met the Indus valley civilization through which they reached the plains of Ganga; hence the name of the book from Indus to Ganga. The surprising thing is he dealt the history of migration in a series of stories all of good literary value but firmly anchored in history .Nobody else has made the history of migrating Aryans more interesting to read.
The title of the book Indus to Cauvery seems to suggest that the Indus valley civilization has/had close relationship with the ancient civilization of Tamil . On the contrary no such (close or otherwise) evidence has been unearthed so far. There is no material proof to conclude that Indus valley and the Tamil civilization has/had any connection . In fact, all the Major sites that have been archaeologically studied lie north of the formidable Vindhya-Sathpura mountain ranges
.Though a lot of new discoveries has been made , new evidences has surfaced in Indus valley studies. No book has been written covering all the aspects of Indus valley civilization. The recent DNA studies, Isotopic study of the dead bodies carefully preserved are dealt with in this book. The controversies about the Indus script still remains controversial is making a mockery at the collective intellect of the mankind.
