Are Ramayan, Mahabharat and Puraans scriptures or literature?

Scriptures are sacred texts meant to inspire the readers to believe in a pre-determined set of thoughts. They are often considered divinely revealed, never to be changed.

Literature, on the other hand, makes us think our own way.

Tulsidas, re-imagined a literary form of Valmiki’s Ramayan into Ramcharitmanas, considered by many to be a scripture.

The plays in this book consider Ramayan, Mahabharat and Puraans brilliant and ingenious literature. They are meant for readers willing to think about the content of the plays and form their own opinions.

Re: MahaLeela (e-book)

Nice & hilarious combination of two great epics of Hinduism Ramayan & Mahabharat in to a play

Harsh an engineer & my batch-mate in IIT Delhi has mixed past, present, & future in to his plays.

This play introduces the characters in great epics to uninitiated
ones prompting them to study & go deeper in to them.

It may not appeal to the hard core Hindutva elements; but our santan dharama is all embracing .
