The first edition is our immensive pleasure to present the book Herbal drug Technology for Pharmacy students. Our goal, from the beginning was to provide the basics of the subject in simple and understanding manner. This book is ‘Herbal drug Technology’ mainly concentrating to fulfill the needs of undergraduate students. Often teachers of Pharmacognosy, experience difficulties in providing requisite material as the books available on the subject partially meet the requirement of the course contents.
It is our endeavor to provide comprehensive text of modern pharmacognosy to the students of pharmacy professionals engaged in pharmaceutical and herbal industries. This Concise text book gives the knowledge of basic understanding of Herbal Drug Industry, the Quality of raw material, Guidelines for Quality of herbal drugs, Herbal cosmetics, Natural sweeteners, Nutraceuticals etc. the subject also emphasizes on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Patenting and Regulatory issues of erbal drugs which are comprehensively presented in all the chapters, which will assist to understand the material in a smarter way.

About the Authors

1. Mr. Kolavali Yalla Reddy is presently working as Associate professor in Pharmacognosy at Jagan’s college of pharmacy, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.
Author is a B. Pharmacy graduate from Annamacharya College of Pharmacy in Rajampet, Y.S.R district and M. Pharmacy in Pharmacognosy at Sree Vidyanikethan college of pharmacy, Thirupathi. He is having 12 years teaching experience in various reputed organizations. He is a placement officer and NSS program officer from Jagan’s college of pharmacy affiliated under JNTUA.
He has published 32 scientific research and review papers in reputed national and international journals and presented more than 30 research abstracts at national scientific conference in the area of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry.
2. Dr. P.V. Madhava Reddy is presently working as Professor in Pharmacology at Jagan’s college of pharmacy, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.
Author is a B. Pharmacy graduate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangloore and M. Pharmacy in Pharmacology at Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamilnadu. Ph.D at Andhra University, Visakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He is having 15 years teaching experience in various reputed organizations.
He has published 42 scientific research and review papers in reputed national and international journals and presented more than 40 research abstracts at national and international scientific conference in the area of Pharmacology.
