Mechanism design and assembly are fundamental components of mechanical, product design,
and STEM education, yet the availability, cost, and physical limitations of mechanism kits and
prototypes often constrain practical learning. Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality
(VR) provide an alternative learning environment in which students can inspect, manipulate
and understand complex assemblies through interactive three-dimensional models. This
chapter presents an AR/VR-enabled approach to kinematic mechanism learning based on a
CAD model of a hydraulic toy-truck mechanism.
