Author Shri Saikat Dasgupta was born in 1977 in Shyambazar area of North Kolkata. He has studied in Hindu schools since childhood. After passing from high school education in 1996, he graduated in science from Vidyasagar College. After that he studied Electrical Engineering, Safety Engineering and Packaging Technology respectively. Early in his 15-year career, he worked as a station manager for the West Bengal State Electricity Board. Later he left that job and worked in various private companies. He is currently working in a private organization. He is survived by his parents, wife Sushmita and son Sourya. He has a special fondness for science-based essays and historical stories. In addition to the 14-episode pyramid story, he wrote some short stories in the online magazine Khas khabar, among which the names of 'Lehan', 'Kshaniker Paap' etc. are particularly noteworthy.
