In contemporary institutional and organizational data frameworks, time and discipline are
widely regarded as measures of effectiveness, responsibility, and order [1]. However, these
ideas frequently take on culturally distinct meanings in the Indian social environment, which
diverge from strict, clock-based conceptions of punctuality. Given that Indian marriage
ceremonies are highly planned rituals that still regularly vary from anticipated schedules, they
offer an especially instructive location for analyzing this divergence. In order to comprehend
how social expectations, cultural norms, and structural realities influence societal attitudes
about timeliness, this study examines the relationship between time, discipline, and chronic
delay in Indian marriage ceremonies.
