As an accomplished poet, Sumitra Dahiya has published two collections of poetry under the pen name ‘Seim Dahiya’: Aman: One Soul within Two Frames and Single Again: Remember my Pain, demonstrating her creative engagement with literary expression alongside her scholarly pursuits. She has been awarded the Interlingua Translation Prize for "King Bruce and the Spider" by the Department of English and Foreign Languages and the Department of Translation Studies, University of Hyderabad. Her first short story, "Dream Park", was published in the children's magazine Nandan at the age of fifteen.
