The idea for this book emerged from a long-standing desire to preserve and document the historical legacy of Haldwani and its Muslim Auqaf. During my search for authentic information on local mosques, waqf properties, and the social and religious institutions of the region, I realized that no single work had brought together this valuable historical material in a systematic manner. This realization inspired me to undertake the task of collecting, verifying, and compiling information from historical records, published sources, official documents, newspapers, and the accounts of local elders and scholars.

This book is the result of years of research, study, and dedication. It presents a concise history of Haldwani while highlighting the contribution and significance of Muslim Auqaf in shaping the religious, social, and cultural life of the city. My objective has been to preserve this important heritage for future generations and to provide students, researchers, and general readers with a reliable source of information.
