Description

Textbook of Diversified Chiropractic Technique is a comprehensive professional reference dedicated to the principles, analysis, listings, and clinical application of specific full-spine chiropractic adjustment.

Rather than presenting Diversified Technique as a collection of isolated manipulative procedures, this book develops it as a complete system of clinical reasoning. Emphasis is placed on anatomical localization, osteology, topographical landmarks, chiropractic listings, patient and practitioner positioning, hand contacts, motion palpation, joint assessment, stabilization, preload, line of drive, controlled HVLA mechanics, and immediate re-evaluation.

The regional chapters cover occipital and atlanto-occipital procedures, atlas and cervical techniques, thoracic and lumbar adjustment, pelvic and sacral procedures, and specific approaches to the foot, ankle, knee, hip, hand, wrist, elbow, forearm, shoulder girdle, clavicle, ribs, and costovertebral articulations.

Later chapters focus on the clinical application of Diversified Technique, including technique selection, contraindications and precautions, full-spine clinical protocol, common technical errors, outcome assessment, practitioner skill development, clinical documentation, and the integration of Diversified Technique into everyday practice.

Throughout the text, one principle remains central:

Do the Least to Achieve the Most.

The objective is not to manipulate the greatest number of joints or to pursue cavitation. It is to identify the clinically relevant mechanical dysfunction, select the most appropriate contact and corrective vector, apply the least necessary intervention, and then re-evaluate the original finding before deciding whether anything further is required.

Written for chiropractic students, practitioners, manual therapists, and educators, this textbook is designed for readers who want to understand not only how Diversified procedures are performed, but why a particular articulation is selected, how the adjustment is localized, and how the result should be assessed.

A modern, structured study of Diversified Chiropractic Technique for those who value specificity, control, clinical reasoning, and disciplined re-evaluation.

About the Authors

Jiro Yamahata, BCSc., is the founder of Palms Chiropractic College, Japan, established in 2003, an institution dedicated to the disciplined study and application of true chiropractic principles. A graduate of ITM Melbourne and ICC Japan, he holds a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and is registered in Japan. For more than a quarter of a century, he has engaged in the practical and philosophical pursuit of chiropractic, not merely as a method, but as a distinct science of life governed by laws that operate from above-down, inside-out. His work emphasizes precision, specificity, and the restoration of normal function through the correction of vertebral subluxation, rather than the treatment of disease itself. Through decades of clinical practice and instruction, he has carried this message across Japan, India, Nepal, Malaysia, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Turkey, contributing to the advancement of chiropractic education and the cultivation of skilled practitioners. His teaching reflects a steadfast commitment to the foundational principles of the profession, harmonized with contemporary clinical understanding. He continues to advocate for a chiropractic approach that does the least to achieve the most, honoring the inherent intelligence of the body while advancing the art, science, and philosophy of chiropractic for future generations.
