"The Train That Never Was and Other Stories" is an engaging collection of tales, many based on real-life experiences, that:
* Takes you on an Indian train journey populated with strangers who want to share their intimate stories with you
* Introduces you to the delightful and exciting world of Indian car drivers
* Concludes with a tribute to classic Bollywood in the form of a tale of two babies separated at birth but with a twist.
The author has weaved together interesting events from her life into beautifully crafted short stories and they keep you engaged till the end. I was also quite amazed to learn that the book cover is an oil painting created by her. What can I say - she has a way with both words and pictures!
I truly loved reading this book.It is very well written. It is especially convinient and entertaining to read while travelling .Some of the stories are humourous a.one feels like reading it again and again.
Re: The Train That Never Was and Other Stories
A very good light read. The conversational tone of the writing and the attention to small details in the descriptions makes one feel as if you are present with the writer. The book captures ordinary everydayness in a humourous and interesting way.Looking forward to more such books from this author.
