WHICH WAS YOUR FAVOURITE FAIRYTALE AS A KID?
I did have my favourites but I liked all of them!!

Well, here's a fairytale written by a 6th grader, Kiara & her father Vinay Shankar.
Primrose's Curse: A fairytale of an audacious girl.
Audacious- adjective, willing to take risks.

Genre- children books, fantasy fiction.

I read this book to refresh myself & to get out of my reading slump.
It rejuvenated me & brought back my precious childhood memories..

It gets you transported to magical world.

The imagination & creativity of Kiara has beautifully translated into a fantasy fiction read which will definitely connect with the imagination of other kids.

It has beautiful illustrations, colours & a freshness to it. The narration is simple and calming. 144 pages long, a quick read & a perfect bedtime story. A wonderful gift for someone you love.

This daring mission involves vanquishing the evil sorceress Queen Evelyn Velecrona & breaking the curse she has cast on humanity.

It's all about the adventures;

How do the woodland animals & primrose plan & embark on their brave voyage to defeat the wicked sorceress?

Will the bunch of lovable woodland animals & an innocent 12 year old girl really succeed in bringing down the dreadful queen Evelyn?

Will they be able to bring back peace, well being & happiness to humanity?

The book teaches the raw, young readers important moral qualities like friendship, kindness, selflessness through the myriad characters in the story.

It is dedicated to humanity, how thoughtful..

The book is published by Kiara's doting father, via his company VIKI publishing & at present the co. is focussed only on her books. Kiara is at the moment working on more fiction & cartoon books.

Would love to read the sequel to this book, Primrose's Destiny.

And this book is also being translated in Punjabi Lang.

A beautiful beautiful read.

Re: Primrose’s Curse: A fairy tale of an Audacious Girl by Books&Sstuff

This is a children's book. It is a fairy tale of a brave girl Primrose, named after a flower and she is out in the woodlands to save humanity. She meets some talking animals in the woodland who help her throughout her journey to fight the evil. In between, she has some great adventures with other creatures of the land like Munchkins. They were my favourite.
The book has a very simple usage of words and will be a learning experience for children. It is a light book and can be read quickly.
I really loved the tale and it is a good book for kids with a great message of bravery and courage. For a 10-year-old author, the book is a huge start of a writing journey and I would recommend that every kid should read it once. Also, if you ever want to gift a fairy tale then Primrose's curse is superfine. And I am really looking forward to reading the sequel Primrose's Destiny.

Re: Primrose’s Curse

I think to read a children’s book you don’t need any particular age. You will enjoy whenever you will read it. This was such a magical read. For a 10 year old girl to write this story is commendable. While reading this fairytale I could remember other fairytale as well.

This story is about Primrose and her journey to make this land free from evil. The illustrations are so beautiful that you just couldn’t stop gazing it. All the characters were written in such a way that it brought life within them. The name of each character is unique and the name of both the island is also very unique.

This story will take you with it through the journey of Primrose and her woodland friends to save our planet from the evil spell. How they reach the island where the evil sorceress was and how they won over evil, was soo magical to read. Can’t wait for the other book now

A fascinating fairy tale written by a child

The incredible volume of children's literature mainly consists of works by adult writers who have rolled back the years to recapture the imagination that approximates the innocence of a child. I have often found myself wondering what a children's book written by an actual child might look like.Today thanks to 'Primrose's Curse' by Kiara Shankar, I have my answer.
The book takes the readers on a fascinating journey, along with the little protagonist Primrose, to save the world. The journey brings you across a plethora of mystical creatures and an evil witch hell bent on destroying all life. With the help of her new friends will Primrose be able to thwart the evil powerful witch or is this the end of the world ? A delightful tale of friendship, magic and a little faith, this one warms the cockles of your heart. The beautiful illustrations accompanying the story add to the charm.
The fascinating difference between traditional children's literature and this book is in the way real world and adult elements, as captured in a child's imagination, creep into the narrative. This includes a diverse collection of elements ranging from environmental considerations to the adult business like way in which the mystical creatures communicate with each other while planning fantastic quests. Kudos to Kiara Shanker for this book. I think it will resonate well with the entire children fraternity.

A magical read.

Primrose's Curse by Kiara and Vinay Shankar is a story about a girl named Primrose Fernetise who is just twelve year old and yet has to take on the role of an adult and takes care of her ill father. Primrose, along with her brother Stanley live a life full of hardships and have a burden too heavy for their small shoulders to carry.

Primrose along with some woodland animals that have mystical abilities embark on an adventure that is full of obstacles with their final destination being their greatest challenge.

I wont talk about the plot much as I'm afraid I'll give something away but I will say that's its been a while since I've read a children's book about adventure and a girl who seeks to vanquish the source of all evil. It filled me with nostalgia.

The writing style was good and I enjoyed reading about all the characters. The graphics were beautiful to look at and made the experience even better.

The narration could have been a little better and there were some weak points but I was too nostalgic to care about the distractions.

Re: Primrose’s Curse

The story follows Primrose Fernetis, a 12 year old girl. Her family's financial condition wasn't good so she and her brother, Stanley worked in order to support their father who was severely ill. One day, Primrose went into the forest looking for a nectar that would cure her father. Ultimately she ended up meeting the mystical animals from Mystopical. This group of woodland animals needed Primrose's help in defeating the evil an evil sorcereress who was hell-bent on taking all the magical powers of woodland animals and wiping out humanity from the face of the earth. That's when Primrose realized that she was destined to save the world.

Thus her journey began. Throughout this whole adventure, we got to meet many character who had important role to play. Everyone wanted the evil sorcereress /queen be gone for good, their can live without an ouch of fear. But this journey was filled of obstacles and difficulties which they overcome by showing courage. Can Primrose along with her friends save the world? Will the good be victorious over bad?

This book was absolutely magical. The imagery and the story itself was utterly lively. I am completely blown away with the vivid imagination. There were colourful illustrations which were adorable. Children books are supposed to be innovative and at the same time must rely some good moral. They should know that good deeds are always respected and no power can shadow an evil doing forever. Primrose's Curse taught exactly the same thing showing that virtues such as sympathy, helpfulness, hope and kindness would go a long way in making a world a better place to live.
