The book is carved out of over 100+ Short and Long Cases that the authors have penned over 40 years, and they are grounded in hardcore Indian Experiences. The experiences led to many surprises and revelations which came to light while practicing Strategic Management and did not exist/ occur to him when he was a teacher, because these were not available in the western literature that was available to him from reputed publishers.
This made him believe that India has a lot more potential and Indians have a lot more capability that normally manifested in everyday work life, but they are ignorant about it or shackled through social cultural practices which do not allow them to explore. The subject strategic management and its conceptual framework got modifies when the cases revealed
* how to create new opportunities and more importantly how to convert threats into opportunity,
* how resource availability is often not not a constraints, but how ready availability of resources becomes a constraint for managing growth as blinders.
The book is as much a demonstration of how to reduce the cost of management education and how the latter can be made more inclusive as mentioned in the IIM Act 2017 and New Education Policy. The launch of Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati and Kannada versions of the book is a step in this direction. Marathi and Bengali versions are under process.
The books is available for online education and available in pouch version for reading in a non-internet environment. The audio and video version make it useful for visually impaired persons.
