Description

From Ungoverned to Unstoppable

Your platform is live. Adoption is growing. And things are starting to break.

Ungoverned apps, unmonitored flows, environments without policies, solutions with no owners — Microsoft Power Platform creates enormous value. But, without the right operating model, citizen development creates chaos faster than it creates results.

Power Platform at Scale closes that gap.

Written for the people who actually run enterprise platforms — CoE managers, platform administrators, solution architects, and IT managers — this book delivers a complete, field-tested blueprint for governing at scale. Not a whitepaper. Not a vendor tutorial. A practical model built for real-world programmes, not ideal conditions.

Four Integrated Frameworks. One Operating Model.

SCALE-OPS — Eight dimensions of platform governance: Stewardship, Containment, Automation, Lifecycle, Enablement, Operations, Performance, and Scalability.
BOLT — A tiered delivery model that defines how business teams and IT build solutions together, with clear ownership and guardrails.
DIALOGUE — Seven pillars of enterprise solution architecture connecting business needs to technical design.
SHIELD — Six security pillars protecting your platform, solutions, and data from the inside out.

What's Inside:
Why platforms fail after early success — and six predictable failure patterns (FRACTS)
Maturity models so you govern proportionately, not prescriptively
Real-world scenario walkthroughs, case studies, and implementation playbooks
RACI templates, ITSM workflows, checklists, and decision guides

Who This Book Is For:

Power Platform leads, CoE managers, and platform administrators who govern the programme day to day. Solution architects and IT managers who design the controls that keep enterprise platforms secure and compliant. And especially the practitioner doing all of this simultaneously — without a playbook.

For CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs, this book provides the framework language to set direction, ask the right questions, and demonstrate platform oversight to the board.

Until now, no single resource has brought all of this together.

Build boldly. Govern confidently. Scale successfully.

About the Author

Kunal Murarka is an enterprise platform leader and technology strategist with over twenty years of experience in business transformation, cloud modernisation, and enterprise-scale automation across the public sector and global institutions. Before moving into platform strategy and governance leadership, he led hands-on delivery across contact centre, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, digital transformation, and large-scale application development programmes.

His recent work has focused on Power Platform strategy and AI-driven automation at the enterprise level, helping organisations adopt low-code and AI capabilities responsibly while meeting demanding security, compliance, and operational requirements. His experience spans Centre of Enablement design, environment strategy, solution architecture, and enterprise programme delivery across financial services, public sector, and professional services.

Previously recognised as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 FastTrack Recognized Solution Architect - one of a small number of individuals acknowledged by Microsoft for distinguished expertise in large-scale Dynamics delivery - he subsequently transitioned into enterprise client-side leadership, where his perspective on platform governance is shaped by accountability for outcomes, not just delivery.

The frameworks in this book — SCALE-OPS, BOLT, DIALOGUE, and SHIELD — were not developed in the abstract. They are the product of years of direct engagement with governance programmes that struggled, succeeded, and everything in between, across industries and at different scales. They emerged from questions that surfaced repeatedly across real governance programmes — and from the lack of practical answers good enough to meet them.

He is based in Northern Virginia, USA.
