‘Emergency Hacks - ‘Every Second Counts! Every Push is Worth it!!’ dwells on exactly what the title says. When a person gets cardiac arrest and collapses suddenly out of the blue, you get just about 3 minutes to either take the victim to the hospital or try revival outside the hospital wherever it happens. We are living in modern times, where modernity squeezes the time out of your hand. In any modern city, it is next to impossible to take such a victim to the hospital in those 3 minutes. Ambulances carrying critical patients and sirens shrieking at their peak and getting stuck in the quagmire of the endless traffic are a common sight in almost all cities. Leave alone taking the victim to the hospital in these three minutes, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you get stuck up in the traffic for more than 3 minutes. By the time you reach the hospital, the victim would have been dead. He could be anyone in your neighborhood, could be your friend, or God-forbid your own family member. Would you want this to happen to you? No?

Then, this book is certainly for you. If you are not able to take the victim to the hospital in those 3 critical minutes, those 180 seconds may sound like the death knell for the victim. Don’t let this happen. Use every second of these 180 seconds to revive the victim with cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR]. Hence every second counts! Don’t lose time – every second is precious. It is a window of opportunity for you to be a Good Samaritan, a life saviour. Be the ‘pranadatha’!

This book tells you what to do and how to revive the victim when such an event happens. It gives you an understanding of the essentials that are required for you to equip yourself with the skill set for administering CPR. It can be a stand-alone book or can serve as an accompaniment to the training on CPR. It is an essential tool to have in your hand to refresh your knowledge from time to time, as well as practice and fine-tune your skill set.

About the Author

The Author is fondly called Kreative Doctor in his family and friends’ circle.
He is an intellectually active man who is averse to dull ‘empty’ days. His artistic talent and creative pen do wonders to kill the so-called empty days by coming out with bits and pieces of blog bytes. His writings could have been interesting, serialized novels, but instead, he chose to release them in pieces time and again. He has written blogs about how knowing First Aid helps people in dealing with small emergencies in their lives, and how one should act promptly in times of life-threatening emergencies.
To reach out to the community with the knowledge he has on first-aid, he took the training in First Aid from St. John’s Ambulance Association; later on, he went on getting trained in Basic Life Support [BLS] by the American Heart Association [AHA] and finally ended up as an Instructor in BLS. Currently, he is a co-instructor on BLS at the Gandhi Medical College Alumni Association that trains internee doctors in BLS.
The Author is a senior public health professional, a medical doctor with 40+ years of experience and association with International Funding Agencies like Bill Melinda Gates Association and Department for International Development, UK [DFID, the erstwhile Overseas Development Aid]. His Global perspectives come from his association with WHO and UNICEF at different times in his career. He has International Paper presentations to his credit, vis-à-vis in the 18th and 20th International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria [2010] and Washington, USA [2012], respectively.
He is an avid follower of social media, vis-à-vis Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn. He has his own FaceBook page dedicated to the community of resuscitators, The Good Samaritan’s Korner’ comprising largely of members trained in CPR through his webinars.
