Description

"A Thriller of Music, History, and Dystopian Rebirth: The Club 27 Legends Live On and Shape the Cultural Revolution"

"Club 27" is a novel that brings to life the greatest artists of the Club 27, those iconic musicians who tragically passed away at the age of 27. In this book, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Brian Jones not only survive but interact with each other and with the arts and cultural movements of the time. Their destinies intertwine with those of contemporary musicians such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Jacques Brel, and Serge Gainsbourg, enriching the plot with their provocative and revolutionary art.

The narrative also intertwines with the artistic figures of Andy Warhol, Stanley Kubrick, Federico Fellini, and François Truffaut, whose cultural and visual impact guides the fate of these legendary protagonists. Warhol, with his pop art and revolutionary vision, Kubrick with his deeply philosophical cinema, Fellini with his surrealism, and Truffaut with his exploration of human emotions, all bring a unique dimension to the plot, enriching the narrative universe and giving life to a crossroads of creativity and change.

"Club 27" is not only a musical novel but also a gripping thriller. Inspectors Hartigan, Carter, and Hughes investigate a mysterious power that threatens the future of the world. As the Club 27 fights against the forces of the Great Devourer, the conflict between power and art becomes the driving force of the story.

This historical novel is enriched with imaginary articles by journalists, sociologists, and music critics of the time, who analyze the events through the lens of an alternative history. Each article and music album review intertwines with the narrative, building a mosaic of visions and opinions on a world that could have been but never was. Readers will discover a version of the past that challenges the history we know, reflecting on what could have happened if the Club 27 legends had had the time to change the world.

About the Author

Author's Biography

Lear McKenzie, born in 1982, is an author and musician who has lived his life to the rhythm of music. From a young age, he developed a deep passion for vinyl, building a collection that now boasts over 3000 records, a testament to his love for music, which has always been the heartbeat of his existence.

For over 20 years, McKenzie played and composed songs, dedicating himself relentlessly to the search for new sounds and the exploration of his vocal abilities. However, after decades of continuous artistic evolution, he decided to take a break, pursue a new path, and focus on a project that would express his passion for music in a completely new way.

Thus was born "Club 27", a series of books that explores the fascination with the premature deaths of some of the greatest musical legends, such as Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Brian Jones, imagining what would have happened if they hadn't passed away at the age of 27.
