Description
Meditation Sutras is not a guide to meditation. It is an invitation to awareness.
Within these ten sutras lies a quiet exploration of the human experience of attachment and freedom, karma and choice, love and detachment, suffering and acceptance. Drawn not from philosophy alone but from lived experience, each reflection invites the reader to look inward rather than outward, to witness rather than react, and to discover the silence that has always existed beneath the noise of the mind.
This book offers no dogma, no promises of enlightenment, and no borrowed answers. Instead, it presents timeless insights that unfold through contemplation, allowing each reader to arrive at their own understanding.
Written in simple yet evocative language, Meditation Sutras bridges ancient wisdom with the realities of modern life. Whether read in a single sitting or contemplated one sutra at a time, it serves as a companion for anyone seeking clarity, equanimity, and a more conscious way of living.
Some books are read and forgotten. Others become mirrors. Meditation Sutras hopes to be the latter.
Major Kh. Deepi Devi (Retd.) is a former Indian Army officer, public policy professional, humanitarian, and seeker whose journey through meditation transformed the way she understands life, suffering, and consciousness.
Following her service in the Indian Army, she continued her commitment to public service through work in public policy, leadership, and social impact, while actively contributing to initiatives focused on education, humanitarian relief, women's empowerment, and community development.
A few years ago, what began as a personal meditation practice gradually evolved into a deeper journey of self-inquiry. Through silence, grief, relationships, responsibility, and the ordinary experiences of everyday life, she discovered that life's greatest teachings are not found in extraordinary moments but in the awareness with which we experience them.
Meditation Sutras is her first book. Rather than offering spiritual doctrines or definitive answers, it shares reflections born from lived experience. Written in the spirit of companionship rather than instruction, it invites readers to pause, observe, and discover the quiet wisdom that life reveals through awareness.
She believes that every experience carries a lesson, every lesson deepens consciousness, and every sincere step inward brings us closer to recognizing the eternal oneness of the Atman with the Paramatman.
