Naresh Rijhwani is a structural engineer, author and keen observer of India's changing times. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he worked on major industrial and infrastructure projects in India and overseas, holding senior engineering and leadership positions with public-sector and international engineering organisations.
Born in 1956 into a Sindhi Hindu family with roots in Larkana and Sukkur in Sindh, Naresh grew up in an India still finding its feet after Independence. Over the seven decades that followed, he witnessed the country's transformation from a young Republic into a more confident, connected and ambitious nation.
His writing reflects a continuing interest in memory, heritage and the forces that shape people's lives. He is the author of Echoes of Sindhi Heritage, The Sindhi Cuisine Cookbook and the memoir Through the Winds of Change.
In Resilience of a Republic, he brings together seven decades of lived experience, professional life and personal observation to reflect on India's journey from 1956 to 2026. He writes not as a conventional historian, but as a citizen who has lived through the country's triumphs, crises, changes and renewal.
