Description

What does the Christian Logos share with the Dao and Brahman?

In this carefully reasoned work of comparative theology, Nilanjana Bhadra—a Vedanta-trained physicist who became a Christian—explores the resonances between three of the world’s deepest spiritual traditions. Without collapsing their differences, she illuminates family resemblances in their understanding of ultimate reality, human suffering, salvation, and the path to inner peace.

Drawing on scripture, the Upanishads, the Dao Te Ching, and mystical writers from Meister Eckhart to Ramana Maharshi, Logos, Dao and Brahman offers a model of interfaith dialogue that is both intellectually rigorous and spiritually generous.

Key themes include:
The Trinity and non-duality: unity without erasing distinction
Grace and Wu Wei: surrender as the heart of transformation
The Kingdom within and the Self as Brahman: awakening to what has always been present

With a preface clarifying her interpretive framework and a final section on what this book does not claim, Bhadra invites readers—whether Christian, Daoist, Vedantin, or simply seekers—into a conversation that honors tradition while opening it to the wider wisdom of humanity.

“Not all paths are the same. But they all lead up the same mountain.”
Nilanjana Bhadra holds graduate degrees in physics and education. She writes from the crossroads of her Hindu heritage, Christian faith, and deepening affinity with Daoist thought.

About the Author

Born into a Hindu home and educated in a Brahmo school Nilanjana Bhadra grew up immersed in Vedantic philosophy before accepting Jesus as her personal saviour at nineteen. Her journey across spiritual traditions has been one of inquiry and reconciliation, bridging Vedanta, Christianity, and Daoism. With a background in physics, she approaches theology with a rational, questioning mindset, finding unexpected parallels between quantum mechanics, Eastern philosophy, and Christian thought.

Fascinated by interfaith dialogue, Nilanjana sees Christianity not as a Western anomaly but as part of Asia’s rich spiritual landscape, deeply resonant with Vedantic and Daoist principles. Her scientific background challenges dogmatic theology, while her spiritual journey gives meaning to scientific exploration. As a writer, she seeks to bridge divides, using research and reason to foster understanding rather than conflict.

In a world where religious identity often dictates social belonging, Nilanjana has found herself a misfit—too Christian for her Hindu roots, too Vedantic for traditional church settings, and yet to find a Daoist monastery to call home. Writing helps her solidify her beliefs and shape a moral compass to guide not only herself but also her young daughter, who inspires her to seek balance in all things.
