In September 1965 the Ambegaokars of Baroda gathered for a great family get-together at their home in Sayaji Gunj, the mansion that had been built by Rao Bahadur G B Ambegaokar. They came together to celebrate the birth centenary of that remarkable patriarch who had established the family name and reputation in Baroda.

On that occasion his surviving children and grandchildren paid him rich tributes for the values he taught all of them. They shared their memories of the man, his personality, his strict yet deeply loving nature and his firm belief in discipline.
