The Legends. The Visionaries. The Torchbearers of India’s Soul.
In this second volume of 50 Great Non-Fiction Stories of India, journey deeper into the nation’s living legacy through fifteen extraordinary lives that shaped its moral, spiritual, and intellectual compass.
From the fearless valor of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Rani Laxmibai, to the revolutionary courage of Subhas Chandra Bose and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar—these are tales of unmatched heroism and conviction.
From the radiant wisdom of Swami Vivekananda, Guru Gobind Singh, and Sai Baba of Shirdi, to the visionary reform of Raja Ram Mohan Roy and the boundless compassion of Mahatma Gandhi—these stories illuminate the spirit that continues to guide India forward.
Between pages of courage and compassion, intellect and inspiration, you’ll also meet literary masters like Mirza Ghalib and Premchand, and spiritual trailblazers such as Yogananda, Jiddu Krishnamurti, and Sathya Sai Baba, whose ideas transcended borders and eras.
Meticulously written and deeply researched by Lieutenant Colonel Opender Nath Karir (Retd), this collection celebrates not just history—but humanity at its finest. Every story reminds us that greatness is not born of privilege, but of purpose, resilience, and the will to serve something larger than oneself.
