Description

The Armchair Anthology is a collection of work that attempts a ‘Bukowski-esque’ take on the many thoughts birthed by the mind in today’s day and age – the mind that resigns to following preconceived notions, the mind that struggles to find inspiration and determination of its own accord, the mind that loves and hates, the mind that laughs, and the mind prepared to rebel.

With a guarded, healthy disregard for the rules governing poetry, this collection echoes the musings shared by millions of others – musings that rarely translate into open monologues, dialogues, or larger conversations.

Moving through humour, tragedy, love, protestations, drama, and fictionalised accounts of real-world experiences, this anthology progresses unrhythmically through various subjects — much like the mind that is free of any harness or discipline.

About the Author

‘Ivanhoe’ inspired Prakash Raghupathi to become an author back in 1999. The early interest, however, was stymied by the Brahmin’s doctrine of placing Math above everything else. The passion returned, years later, when he meandered into the wilderness of Engineering. What followed was a 3-year stint in freelance journalism that eventually inspired him to take up copywriting; a craft he is now radically passionate about. As he grew busier building brands, the drive to write a book was locked in the ‘cupboard under the stairs’ and the key was thrown away; although a few lesser-known plotlines, poems, scripts, and songs found their way into his notebooks. The passion was rekindled, once again, in the early months of 2019 - after several re-reads of American Gods and Good Omens - and the author is now resolute about sticking with it, no matter what!

As a worker, he is earnest. As a writer, he is trying to be Hemingway.
