Description

This book “Piping Fitter Handbook” provides the technique to learn how to make a proper pipe joint for welding, making pipe supports, and steel structures and teaches you to be a master of the fitter’s craft with the instructions, piping components, learning tools and equipment. A pipe fitter is a tradesperson who installs, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair mechanical piping systems in Oil Refinery, Petrochemicals and fertiliser plant.
Typical industrial process pipe is under high pressure which requires metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and many different alloy metals fused together through precise cutting, threading, grooving, bending and welding. Pipe fitter prepares weld joints, piping/tubing layouts, cutting of pipe, Mitre bends and fabricating pipe or tubing segments or spool to join those segments by threading, welding, and brazing, together. They install manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic operated valves on pipes to control the flow through the pipes or tubes. Pipe Fitters create the system of tubes in boilers. Pipe fitter is often exposed to a hazardous or dangerous environment, such as asbestos, lead, ammonia gas, steam, flammable gases, various resins and solvents including benzene, and various refrigerants. This book has proved to be a friend and guide to many Pipe Fitters, Contractors, and Technicians working with any Construction or Consultants Companies, who are responsible for Laying out, Cutting Pipe, making Fit up AND assembling or installing the piping systems, pipe supports, applying their knowledge of construction experience following blueprints and select type and size of pipe, related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to piping drawings and specifications. Fitters are the main technical professionals who are responsible for delivering the quality job of piping work and they should have sufficient knowledge of Piping Engineering subject. This book will result in improving the general quality levels of a Pipe Fitter in this direction leading to greater satisfaction in work.
