About the Author

Aged about 78 years, Ranesh Ray, the author of the book is a retired professor of Economics. He retired as the head of the department at Kidderpore College, Kolkata. He worked as a part-time lecturer at Prafulla Chandra College and Sivanath Sastri College in Kolkata. He has also served as an honorary lecturer at Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Residential College. He is a columnist in leading papers and has written a number of textbooks and books on different socioeconomic subjects. He lives in Kolkata.
