Poetry, for me, has never been merely an arrangement of words. It is a way of listening—to the silence within, to the changing seasons, to distant landscapes, to fleeting moments, and sometimes to the unspoken sadness that accompanies ordinary life.

Poems That Speak to Me is a collection born out of that listening.

These poems were not written with the intention of creating grand literary statements. Many of them emerged from simple observations: the fading light of an afternoon, a lonely road, a winter sky, birds flying across a distant horizon, an abandoned landscape, the coming and passing of seasons, or the quietness of a room. Yet such ordinary things often carry within them emotions that are difficult to express directly.

I have always felt that there is another world hidden beneath the visible one. A landscape is never merely a landscape; winter may become a metaphor for loss, an empty room may speak of solitude, and a flight of birds may suggest freedom, departure, or the yearning to escape. Poetry allows these impressions to exist without requiring them to be explained completely.

The poems in this book therefore wander between the external world and the inner one. Nature, memory, loneliness, freedom, time, mortality, uncertainty and hope appear and disappear like fragments of a larger, unfinished conversation.

Some poems may seem contemplative, some sombre, and others perhaps almost dreamlike. I have not attempted to conceal their imperfections. They are, in many ways, records of particular moments of consciousness—thoughts captured before they disappeared. Their value to me lies not in perfection, but in their sincerity.

The title Poems That Speak to Me is deliberately personal. A poem may speak differently to every reader. What begins as the poet's private thought can, unexpectedly, become someone else's memory, solitude, longing or dream. If even a few of these poems speak to a reader in such a way, then they will have travelled beyond the circumstances in which they were written.

Perhaps that is one of the quiet miracles of poetry: we write alone, yet our words can find companionship in another person's heart.

This book is therefore not offered as a definitive account of anything. It is simply a collection of voices—some clear, some uncertain, some melancholic, some hopeful—that have spoken to me along the way.

I invite the reader to listen to them in their own way.
