Description
The novel is about the love of Lalita, the heroine for Atin, the passive hero of the novel. Lalita fell in love with Atin at first sight when he went to see her as his bride. But Atin said that he would go again to their house for taking the final decision, but he didn't go.
That made Lalita sad since she loved Atin. After twenty years, Lalita became a doctor and was posted as a regular doctor of the local hospital.
On one fine morning when Lalita was on a round in a ward, she noticed a new patient lying in the empty bed. So, Lalita went to the bed and looked at the new patient and was surprised to see that he looked like Atin. So, she became angry with him, but having learned everything from Atin, Lalita was surethat he was none other than Atin. Hearing everything from him, Lalita pardoned Atin, and they were united after twenty years for the sake of love.
The author, Sadhan Kumar Mondal, alias (Suhas), was born in his maternal house in a remote village of Nadia District in West Bengal, India.
When he was three months old, he was brought to his parental home, a village named Areadanga, in the same district.
Since his father’s income was very low, he advised him to earn money by working somewhere so that he could maintain the family.
Despite that, he appeared for the Higher Secondary examination from Krishnanagar Collegiate School, and after a gap of eight years and after passing the H. S. examination, he got admitted to Krishnanagar Government College.
When he was a college student, he started writing short stories and poems, but, with time, he devoted himself to writing novels.
Though two Bengali novels—Thikanar Khonje and Jalchhobir Rupkathara—were published by his credit, they didn’t earn him success.
At that time, he found online free self-publishing platforms like ‘Amazon KDP,' ‘The Pencil,' and others.
So, he switched over to English and continued writing novels in English while he was a job under the Govt of West Bengal.
After he retired from service, he was fully devoted to writing, and his first novella, ‘Broken Wings,’ was published by ‘The Pencil.'
After that, three of his novels, namely ‘A Village by the Mill,' were published towards the end of 2023, and both ‘Love Beyond the Border,' 'Punishment,' and ‘Destiny of a Woman’ were published by ‘Amazon KDP’ in 2024.
‘Mirage’ is the author’s last novel published by The Pencil.
