Description

What happens when the dream you are living was never truly yours?

In a world where success is often measured by marks, careers, money, and security, many young people quietly lose sight of what they actually want. This book explores the struggle between a child’s dreams and a parent’s expectations—the pressure to follow a “safe” path, even when your heart wants something completely different.

Parents may believe they are guiding us toward a better future. But when guidance becomes control, where does our own choice go?

Through personal experiences, reflections, and questions about dreams, success, freedom, and happiness, Alive but Dead explores what it means to achieve everything expected of you while still feeling like you never truly lived your own life.

Because if you are made to carry someone else’s dream, who do you give yours to?

About the Author

My name is SAFIR AHMED and I am a young writer from Assam, India, with a deep interest in stories, ideas, and the questions we often avoid asking ourselves.

I wrote AM I NOT YOUR CHILD? from my own experiences of growing up with expectations about what I should become and slowly discovering what I actually wanted for myself. Through this book, I wanted to put into words the thoughts and struggles that many young people experience but rarely talk about.

I am still figuring out my own path, and perhaps that is what makes this book so personal to me. I don’t have all the answers. I simply wanted to ask the questions that matter.
