The sky often turns gray before it reveals its most beautiful secret. A rainbow is not just a collection of colors; it is a promise that light can find its way through any storm. This book, "Rainbow," is my attempt to capture that light through the medium of words.
As an engineer, my world is often defined by precision, structure, and logic. However, the human heart cannot be measured by formulas or contained within blueprints. My journey as a poet began in the quiet spaces between my professional life and my personal reflections. It is here, in the balance of these two worlds, that these poems were born.
Writing this collection has been a deeply personal process of translation—not just between languages like Odia, Hindi, and English, but between the silence of thought and the rhythm of verse. Much like the distinct bands of a rainbow, these poems represent different phases of my life: the heritage of my roots in Odisha, the fast-paced energy of life in Bangalore, and the universal emotions of love, struggle, and hope that connect us all.
This book exists because of the pillars of strength in my life. I am eternally grateful to my parents, whose life of struggle and sacrifice became the foundation upon which I built my dreams. Their resilience is the true inspiration behind every line I write. I humbly place this work at the feet of Lord Jagannath, whose grace guides my hand and my heart. And finally, I look toward our brave soldiers, the guardians of our peace, whose selfless service allows us the freedom to create and celebrate art.
A preface is often a beginning, but for me, this is a bridge. It is a bridge between my soul and yours. My only hope is that as you read these poems, you find a reflection of your own colors—your own joys, your own sorrows, and your own strength.
Thank you for walking this path with me.
