“Love and Light” is a compilation of a few diary pages of Sanjyot, a Homeschooler, wife, mother and daughter. As it is in a diary format, the book has a “straight from the heart” kind of a feel to it. No dilution, no pretences. Though the writer has touched upon experiences that move her; the book is not meant to preach about any philosophies. Neither does it have an autobiographical feel to it. It is just sharing of feelings, and thoughts. Experiences any lay man, goes through. Sanjyot believes that there is a beauty in routine, ordinary episodes of life. She has tried to see and share this beauty through a compilation of a few anecdotes. Some anecdotes are silly, some are very ordinary, some serious, some make you laugh, some may make you cry. But all are honest, straight from the heart expressions of how one feels. It is quite possible that many may relate and identify with the episodes and the raw basic emotions described in the book. Coming from a profession in Media in her past, the author has seen two very different flavours of life, and hence is able to fully enjoy the drama in a routine, common-man life. The book is all about her belief in the simple pleasures of life and how glorious a “regular” day can be.
The episodes range from stories of different people, different episodes, some nice, some not so nice some protective, some abusive, some funny, some scary, some happy some sad. Sanjyot, the author has overall had a very happy life, sprinkled with a few “not so happy” episodes. And the book is exactly a reflection of the same. It is over all a happy book, with a lot of fun element, sprinkled with a little reflective mood. But even the “not- so happy” episodes leave the page with a happy and hopeful note. Overall the book smiles with you.
