Shahnawaz Ahmed's first book of poetry, MIRAGE, is beautiful. Each poem is a lyrical gift.
While reading the poems in MIRAGE, I kept envisioning words dancing across the blue and white expanse of a sky wearing white, puffy clouds. I think this happened because the poems are beautiful and uplifting, even when they speak of sorrow. I couldn't help but feel elevated while reading MIRAGE.
Shahnawaz also illustrated MIRAGE and each illustration adds another layer of beauty to the book. You could meditate on a poem or an illustration and then be inspired to create something unique and wondrous, yourself.
I highly recommend MIRAGE to all poetry lovers, and if you're not a lover of poetry, try MIRAGE and see if it can change your mind.

Shahnawaz Ahmed has a gift for listening to his heart beside the tempting darkness of his mind. The result is a poetry sublime and real, tempting and passionate, frail and strong. Complimented by the writer's stunning artworks, I am left knowing I will return to these pages again.
