About the Author

Dr. Shambhavi Das is a Hindustani music vocalist, Guru and a music therapist in her self-owned music and music therapy school called Surdemy Centre for Music & Therapy in Gurgaon (Earlier in Hyderabad). She is also a co-founder of Indian Music Therapy Education & Research Foundation (IMTERF) and a member of IMTA-Indian Music Therapy Association. She is a recipient of Savyasachi Awards, Rhythmite Maestro Award, Best Teacher award, NADA Award of Excellence, etc. She has published around 20 research papers on music and Music therapy which are uploaded on Academia. She is a music instructor on Udemy Online teaching platform as well. This book is based on her thesis topic which she pursued in her Ph.D work during 2012 under the guidance of Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh. She had been doing classical and Ghazal concerts in India and abroad. She has been mentoring under many revered Gurus: Pt. Shantaram Kashalkar, Smt. Prabha Das (mother), Dr. Soma Singh, Vidushi Rajam Shanker, Dr. Meenakshi Ravi.
