Hitesh, an unambitious, complacent, middle-class person, is caught in a bizarre situation, a socio- political conspiracy, when he accidentally receives a voicemail from a private number. His peaceful life is shattered and turns topsy-turvy. He is pulled into a quagmire of deceit, corruption, and avarice.
His ‘Rip-Van-Winkle’ life undergoes a transformation as he realizes that life is not what it appears to be. Seema, his wife a political science professor, faces gender and caste discrimination (caste politics) at the university; she is diametrically opposite to Hitesh and would never settle down for anything that would demean her self-respect and self-worth. Unlike Hitesh, she is prepared to take challenges. His complacency piqued her and he never understood her ideology.
The political disturbance just before Assembly Elections, the uncertainty prevailing in the city, exploitation and malpractices in the Social Welfare hostel, recurrent voice mail, threatening severe consequences(results), the confusion is unabated. Hitesh’s tranquil life is in for a makeover. He is shocked to know the stark realities of life which, for him till then, were non- existent.
The make-believe-world turns out to be cocoon and he realizes he has to break it open and step out to bring about the much-awaited change.
He understands Seema’s concern for the society which lacks in social responsibility, justice and equality. The misuse of power and authority, foul play of the elite, class and caste discrimination, there is no end to the travails of the underprivileged.
He embarks upon a journey to expose a political conspiracy and unmask the corrupt politicians.
His voyage through the layers of life bring to surface the values which were dormant for a long time.
