Three mornings in a row, the tide fails to come in at the fishing village of Kaien — and then the entire village goes silent, its boats still tied at the docks, its hearths still warm, its people simply gone. To find out what woke it, Kenji, Reiko, and Akira sail beyond the charted waters of Ouka for the first time, into a world of sunken shrines, coral labyrinths, and a temple more ancient than any battlefield they've faced. There, they'll have to win over suspicious sea-warriors, uncover a betrayal three hundred years in the making, and learn that not every enemy can be beaten by cutting through it — some can only be drowned out, together, as loudly as three exhausted Guardians and everyone who still believes in them can manage.
Kenji's spirit blade, Reiko's calculating precision, and Akira's unbreakable will are put to their strangest test yet in a fight where the greatest weapon isn't a blade at all — it's refusing to go quiet.
