Anchusa ovata is a plant related to the common bugloss which is found growing wild in a wide range of environments ranging from the desert of Saudia Arabia to the alpine regions of Himalayas situated at more than 3 kilometres above sea level. Its seeds yield an edible oil rich in nutritionally important poly and monounsaturated fatty acids. As it grows in widely different environments ranging from the desert to the alpine it could be grown as an oilseed in terrains that are not suitable for the conventional oilseeds. This atlas will help persons interested in this plant in identifying the plant and getting an understanding of its morphological features
