Tapovan The Iron Volume I or III
TAPOVAN: THE IRON

VOLUME 1

Hiranmay Singh is nineteen. His parents are dead. His village is five seasons into a drought. And his four-year-old twin siblings are waiting for him at home.

He already has enough to worry about.

Then he finds a wounded young woman at the foot of a cliff.

It doesn’t occur to him, not even once, that he could simply walk away.

What he doesn’t know is that far beyond his village, men are searching for her.

---

Set in sixteenth-century Gujarat, TAPOVAN: THE IRON is the first book in a sweeping trilogy of family and festivals, dangers and duties, bonds and betrayals, and above all, of two people whose paths cross at a moment when neither can afford to trust the other.

---

Tapovan draws you into a world of village life, cultural traditions, political intrigue and human relationships against the tumultuous backdrop of a changing empire.

--

TAPOVAN: THE IRON opens a trilogy spanning two decades of war, statecraft, and a love never spoken aloud. It is the story of what one craftsman will preserve when an empire comes to take it.

About the Author

Stories begin long before they are written.

Tvisha is an engineer by profession and a writer by instinct. She told stories long before she had books to read—there was no library where she grew up, so she read whatever paper reached the house and invented the rest, usually out loud. Studies and work took the next few decades. The stories waited.

Indian-born and Gujarati by heritage, she has spent much of her adult life preserving the culture she grew up with—through food, classical dance, art, language, and story.

Tapovan comes from that same instinct. It is an act of preservation as much as a novel.
