Description

A curious boy. A mysterious blue notebook. A horizon that keeps moving.

Aarav is a small-town boy who loves watching trains. One evening, he sees a group of young naval cadets in crisp white uniforms on a passing train and finds a blue notebook that changes the direction of his life.

From railway crossings and training grounds to stormy seas, festival nights far from home, difficult mistakes, final salutes, and new beginnings, Aarav’s journey becomes a story of courage, friendship, discipline and quiet resilience.

Inspired by the spirit of naval life, The Boy Who Followed the Horizon is an illustrated storybook for young readers, teenagers, and dreamers of every age. Through ten heartfelt adventures, it reminds us that bravery does not mean being fearless. It means listening to the call of your own horizon and taking the first step toward it.

Perfect for readers who enjoy inspiring coming-of-age stories, adventure, friendship, leadership, and stories about finding courage when life asks you to grow.

About the Author

Cdr Ullas Taneja (Retd) is a former Indian Navy Commander, storyteller and lifelong student of leadership, discipline, and reinvention.

For more than a decade, he served in uniform, where the sea became more than a place of duty; it became a teacher. It taught him courage, humility, teamwork, responsibility, and the quiet strength required to begin again.

After his years in the Navy, Ullas went on to study at the Indian School of Business and IIT Delhi, and later built a career in consulting and analytics. Yet the lessons of naval life continued to stay with him: the value of preparation, the dignity of service, the strength of friendship, and the courage to follow a horizon even when the path is uncertain.

His debut illustrated storybook, The Boy Who Followed the Horizon, is inspired by those life lessons. Written for young readers, teenagers, and dreamers of every age, it reflects his belief that bravery does not mean being fearless; it means listening to the call of your own horizon and taking the first step toward it.
