Only one who possesses such a heart could write this way—one who, even when shattered, cannot bring himself to lie to his own reflection; and who, with profound honesty, defines the essence of both city and village in a single line: "A merchant came to my village and sold it away." Indeed, how else could the market-driven ethos of our times be captured with such sheer innocence? It is, in fact, for this very penmanship that Anuj Anhad has been honorand with the 'National Youth Poet' award and the 'Maithili Sharan Gupt Youth Poet' award; furthermore, *Sahitya Aaj Tak* has provided him a platform to showcase his talent on their program, *Mic Ke Lal*.
In essence, these are not merely words; they are a "vaccine of words"—present within this book in the form of both a second dose and a booster shot. I am convinced that anyone who allows this vaccine to reach their heart will undoubtedly be well-equipped to withstand the market-driven virus plaguing our contemporary world; they will learn to cherish the emotional depth within human relationships and save themselves from the fate of being reduced to mere cogs in a machine.
In my view, these short poems by Anuj Anhad will spontaneously find their way into the reader's heart; for, as he writes: "I bridge the distance from heart to heart; with words, I craft a vaccine of emotions."
This marks Anuj Anhad’s third book, and through his debut work, *Purani Kameez* (The Old Shirt), he has already made his presence felt—knocking firmly upon the doors of the Hindi literary world. *Sahitya Aaj Tak* has heard this knock; I am fully confident that *Shabdon Ki Vaccine* (The Vaccine of Words) will be widely acclaimed by both readers and critics alike.
In the times to come, Anuj Anhad will undoubtedly continue to create across various literary genres—honestly keeping alive the 'village' that resides within him, while simultaneously fostering awareness against the dehumanizing tendency of life in this metropolis to reduce human existence into mere machinery.
I extend my heartfelt best wishes to Anuj Anhad and hope for the resounding success of this book.
With these words,
Murli Manohar Srivastava
