Description
HARYANVI RAGNI SCHOLARLY DIGITAL CORPUS (HRSDC) is a bilingual scholarly anthology documenting Haryanvi Ragni as a living tradition of oral literature, vernacular poetry and cultural expression.
Bringing together traditional heritage and contemporary voices, this volume presents original Haryanvi Ragni texts alongside literary English translations, critical commentary, Pingal and poetic observations, selected language notes and scholarly assessments.
The corpus encompasses a wide range of themes, including philosophy and spirituality, devotion, love and human relationships, social criticism, historical memory, family and rural life, gendered experience, cultural identity, linguistic expression and environmental concerns.
Rather than treating Ragni merely as folk entertainment, HRSDC approaches it as significant literary, linguistic and cultural evidence. Traditional compositions are placed alongside contemporary voices, revealing both the continuity and creative evolution of the Ragni tradition.
Designed for researchers, scholars, students, libraries and readers of South Asian oral and vernacular literature, HRSDC seeks to make an important regional literary tradition accessible to the wider English-reading world while preserving the authenticity of its Haryanvi source material.
