Japji Sahib is the first composition in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book. It is considered the living Guru by the Sikhs. Japji Sahib is in the form of guidance on practical spirituality. It is free of dogma, rituals or superstition. Emphasis is on leading life according to Divine commands or laws of nature under guidance of the guru who has experienced presence of God. About the Author

The author Brig Rawel Singh was born in 1932 CE, in India. He retired from the Indian army in 1986 and has dedicated his life to study of scriptures and comparative religion since then. He has published a large number of articles on Sikh way of life and comparative religion. He maintains a popular blog He has also completed an interpretative translation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in English giving meanings of individual words. It also contains transliteration of the original Punjabi/Gurmukhi.
