Sericulture, the practice of rearing silkworms for silk production, has long been an important
rural livelihood in many parts of the world, particularly in India. However, conventional
sericulture often relies on chemical fertilizers, synthetic pesticides, and intensive resource
use, which can negatively impact soil health, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability. In
response to these challenges, eco-friendly sericulture approaches are gaining attention,
particularly those that integrate traditional organic practices such as Panchagavya with
modern technological innovations.
