In Munich, photograph restorer Emilia Weiss and investigator Paul Gonzalez uncover a deadly conspiracy when Klaus Ritter—a man presumed dead for thirty years—emerges from the shadows. They expose the "Three Lines" network, a 1989 child-trafficking syndicate orchestrated by a revered philanthropist. Paul shockingly discovers he is a stolen child, and Klaus is his biological father acting as his protector. After Klaus sacrifices his life to defeat the ring, Paul and Emilia use a secret ledger to dismantle the network and finally restore the victims' names.
