Description

Welcome to the spiritual retreat—a journey to Awaken the Soul, Calm the Mind and Heal the Heart.

Adapted from the acclaimed book Spiritual Short Plays—which inspired award-winning short films and spellbound stage audiences—this collection reimagines six powerful narratives for the page, alongside the brand-new story, Rudrashtak.

These seven stories explore the "U-Turn" within, leading readers through the friction of modern life toward a deeper sense of peace. Whether set in a corporate boardroom, a celestial classroom, or a dusty historical battlefield, each tale invites you to pause, breathe, and look beyond the surface of your own reality.

The Stories:

Where Heart Meets Mind: A dapper, time-obsessed "Mind" and a spontaneous, rose-gazing "Heart" meet in a garden to settle a lifelong rivalry.
Visiting the Earth: A celestial visitor named Love travels through time with a quirky guide to witness the contradictions of humanity—from the gore of war to the nectar of the sages.
I am in Love: A shepherdess in a meadow faces the combined power of the Church and the State with a form of love so vast it threatens their very foundations.
That Uncommon Conversation: A man who has learned to silence the voices in his head finds his consciousness expanding beyond his body, transforming his relationship with everything he touches.
Who am I?: A world-renowned CEO finds himself haunted by a single question that his wealth, status, and fame—which a mysterious monk defines through a simple mathematical subtraction—cannot answer.
The Brave Coward: A Roman soldier is paralyzed by the memory of an execution where the victim's eyes held something he had never seen in a dying man: compassion.
Rudrashtak: A five-year-old girl at an ancient temple discovers that the distance between a playful film song and a divine Sanskrit hymn is shorter than she ever imagined.
Stop running. Start seeking. This collection offers more than stories; it offers a bridge between the digital noise of the present and the timeless silence of the soul.

Your journey home begins on Page 1.

About the Author

Kamlesh is an NIT Calicut Engineer and an SP Jain MBA by qualification, an advertiser by profession, an award-winning film-maker by ramification, a writer by passion, a thinker through introspection, a seeker through meditation, and a healer through compassion. As Computer Engineer, he worked with Zensar Technologies, Oracle India, and Emirates Airlines before pursuing MBA, after which he engaged in IT and Business Consulting with KPMG Dubai. While the corporate world kept him engaged, Kamlesh's heart yearned for storytelling so he quit KPMG and returned to India to pursue his passion of storytelling. He has since published a poetry book ‘Kindle the Spirit’ which won 'The Best English Poetry Book' award at Lit-O-Fest Mumbai, and co-authored the Indian No.1 Bestselling book ‘Ahmedabad Rathyatra – A Journey of Miracles.’ Beyond books, he is also an award-winning playwright, filmmaker, director and actor. His plays have won awards and performed across India and Dubai. He has also made many award-winning short films, the latest two of which received Official Selection from the reputed Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. All this, while advertising satiates his daily hunger for creative writing. His writings, irrespective of the form, delve into the spiritual philosophy and feel like a deep dive into Self-discovery, a fact emphasized by Kamlesh when he says, “I seek my Self, through the stories I tell.” His award-winning short films are available on YouTube channels ‘Kamlesh Acharya Productions’, ‘Pocket Films’ and 'Natak Pictures'.
