I don't know when I became the person people talk to while waiting for water to boil or pretending to look for something in the fridge. Somehow, I always seem to know what to say.

The problem is that I am much better at giving advice than taking it.

A Little Longer Than Necessary is a collection of small observations about people, conversations, growing up, love, boundaries, healing, and the things we usually don't say out loud.

There are kitchen confessions, bus rides home, people who stay, people who leave, attempts at healing that don't quite go according to plan, and a lot of thinking about things that probably didn't need quite this much thinking.

It is quiet and also, mostly about trying to understand people, including myself
