Description

A BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED, FULL-COLOUR COOKBOOK — PRINTED ON COATED PAPER WITH MANY PHOTOGRAPHS

The Sindhi Cuisine Book is more than a collection of recipes—it is a celebration of Sindhi food, heritage and memories.
For generations, Sindhi cooking was passed down not through written measurements, but through sight, aroma and the intuitive touch of home cooks. After the Partition of 1947, Sindhis carried this culinary heritage with them, preserving it in their homes across India and around the world.
This richly illustrated cookbook brings those treasured flavours to the modern kitchen while preserving the stories and traditions behind them.

Inside the Book

42 heirloom recipes covering traditional breakfasts, everyday dals, festive meat and fish dishes, and rich ceremonial sweets.
5 engaging cultural essays exploring the Indus, Sindhi festivals, traditional textiles such as Ajrakh and Ralli, and the enduring role of food in the Sindhi diaspora.
Many photographs that bring the dishes, traditions and memories vividly to life.
A practical yet deeply personal cookbook that celebrates the resilience of a community and the flavours that have kept its heritage alive.

Cook, savour and discover the rich culinary heritage of Sindh—one treasured recipe at a time.

About the Author

Naresh Rijhwani spent over four decades as a distinguished structural engineer, leading the design and execution of major industrial and infrastructure projects. Upon stepping back from engineering, he applied that same precision and devotion toward preserving something far more personal: the culinary heritage, sacred rituals and living memory of his Sindhi roots.
Born into a Sindhi Hindu family tracing its ancestry to Larkana and Sukkur, Sindh, Naresh grew up in a home where cooking was an intuitive language, passed down through generations without a single recipe written on paper. Preserving this oral tradition became the foundation for his ongoing Sindhi Heritage Series.
He is the author of Echoes of Sindhi Heritage, a celebrated collection of cultural essays and writes regularly on Sindhi history, festivals and folk traditions. The Sindhi Cuisine Cookbook marks a deeply personal milestone in this journey—a project born from a heartfelt promise to his late wife, Neelam and brought to fruition with the encouragement of his son, Dushyant.
Naresh writes from Gurugram, India, driven by the conviction that a civilization’s most intimate inheritance—its food—must be documented on purpose, before it is lost to time.
