It starts with a phone call. A retired schoolteacher in Hyderabad is told that a parcel in his name carries sixteen passports and half a kilo of drugs. For four days he sits in front of his own phone, under "arrest", watched by men in uniform who are not there. On the last day he is dead, and one crore ninety lakh rupees have vanished through thirty-one accounts.
Inspector Sharanya Reddy of the Cyber Crime Police Station has a dead man, a grieving daughter, and a trail that cools every time she reaches for it. Raids find empty rooms. Traps are sprung early. Somebody who knows her case is feeding it to the other side.
Then the callers start using her name.
Every scam runs on one rule: nobody dares to hang up on the law. Sharanya is about to find out what happens when the law picks up.
